The _Customer Development Specialist for Commercial Sales_ _ _ has the unique opportunity to manage the business relationships between Gordon Food Service and restaurants, hotels, caterers and other commercial food service customers to achieve both customer growth and profitability.
Some of the initiatives within this position include:
Present the "first impression" and continually delivering the Gordon Food Service story and image to all of our customers
Travel throughout the assigned territory, calling on existing customers and building relationships with prospective customers
Utilize and apply customer profitability/pricing models to negotiate customer agreements
Oversee and coordinate the demonstration and presentation of products, emphasizing key features to benefit each customer''s operational needs
Create and deliver business plans based on customer goals and objectives
Direct and deliver consultative services such as menu engineering, wait staff and HAACP training through network resources
Conduct Customer Delivery Specialist (CDS) personal results analysis and planning by customer level
Discuss, receive, and verify order information with customers using appropriate methods as needed to include customer credits and to establish sales performance goals
Establish appropriate credit terms, collecting on accounts to manage the credit relationship with our customers
Educate and promote GFS proprietary technology solutions to enhance the customer experience
Develop, oversee, and participate in customer events
Collaborate with food brokers to establish GFS products

Qualifications:
Demonstrate ability to be a strategic thinker, innovative planner, and how you use creativity to build relationships, network, and link resources
Enthusiastic about meeting the diverse needs of our valued customers
High school diploma or GED equivalent - required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing - preferred
Culinary certification a plus
Must maintain a valid state Driver's License and safe driving record
Up to three years previous sales, business, or foodservice experience, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Strong interest in the foodservice, food business practices, and food preparation are a must to be successful in this role
Comprehensive communication skills
Self-driven, working effectively within a team or on your own
Exceed sales goal achievement and performance measurements
Must be able to travel extensively throughout the region
Reside or willing to relocate to a geographical area within the assigned sales territory
Demonstrate the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
